Deacon Employees Give Back

Deacon’s employees are giving back to their communities on their own and with the support of the Deacon Charitable Foundation. The Foundation offers many opportunities for our employees to get involved in our community via various programs, be it hands-on or with donations to eligible charitable organizations.

Employee Matching

Our employees play a significant role in positively impacting our communities! To amplify their generosity, the Deacon Charitable Foundation offers matching contributions in two ways:

  1. Cash Gifts: Any cash gift of at least $20 will be matched at a ratio of 3 to 1.

  2. Volunteer Hours: When a Deacon employee or a family member volunteers for two hours or more, we will match $20 for each volunteer hour.

Matching Limits
The Foundation will provide matching contributions of up to $500 per family per calendar year for financial donations, totaling $1,500 from the Foundation annually. Additionally, employees and their families can volunteer up to 100 hours per calendar year with qualified organizations, with a maximum total support of $2,000 per employee/family per calendar year for volunteer hours.

Eligibility
All full-time employees of Deacon Construction and their immediate families (spouses/domestic partners and children) are eligible to participate.

Please download the MATCHING GIFT & VOLUNTEER PROGRAM form for more information and to start matching.

Community Service Program

The giving committees collaborate with local nonprofits to organize volunteer opportunities. Each employee has the opportunity to volunteer for up to 8 hours during the Monday to Friday workday. This initiative not only encourages employee engagement but also provides support for those facing time constraints. It's strategically scheduled during working hours, allowing employees to participate on weekdays. Deacon Management wholeheartedly supports employee involvement, so feel free to sign up!

In-Kind Project

This program harnesses the expertise of our employees to support non-profits or individuals in the community requiring construction-related assistance. Additionally, it leverages its industry contacts to enhance the impact of these efforts, creating a more robust network for community support. Requests may come from employees or nonprofits; contact your local giving committee with any opportunities.

Weekend Volunteer Day

These events, curated by the Giving Committees and hosted on weekends, bring together Deacon employees, their family members, friends, and subcontractors to collaborate towards a shared objective. For volunteer events benefiting nonprofits, the Foundation matches hours contributed by Deacon employees and their immediate family members. Beyond their philanthropic impact, these gatherings serve as meaningful opportunities for Deacon employees, along with their families and friends, to strengthen bonds and build connections.

Sanctioned Events

These events are put together by the Giving Committees with proceeds donated to a specific non-profit or encouraging employees to donate to a specific cause and matching the donations made by employees. Run/Walk events may also be coordinated where teams can be formed, and entry fees will be paid for participants. Giving Committees welcome any suggestions for new events.

Our charitable mission is to improve the quality of life in the communities where we live or work by supporting organizations that address vital community needs and issues in the areas of human services, animal welfare, and the environment.
